I've heard back from U.S. cachers VWjunkies. They were a couple who cached together but have split, their Geocaching.com account being retained by the female half, Knockout Ferrari being taken by her former partner and passed onto an unknown Florida-based cacher, which is where the trail goes cold; therefore I've marked KF as "whereabouts unknown".
Smart451's Smart Car 10 Knockout Racer TB was retrieved yesterday by German cachers Ilmaran, who promptly placed it into this puzzle-cache dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the fall of The Berlin Wall, adding 8.58 miles to it's distance travelled.
Also adding a little distance to it's total milage travelled (although still the most vulnerable to elimination from the Knockout) is Mat Smith's Hazards of Geocaching 2 (The Sheep) John's Knockout Racer TB, which was dropped into this typically-Dutch multicache, 18.1 miles from the last cache that it visited.

Leaders check into Motels, 3rd place checks out?
Just as it looked like nothing would be happening this month, all of the top 3 entries in The Great Travel Bug Knockout make moves;
Current leader Team Blid435's BraveHeart TB has been dropped into this Australian TB Motel, near to Cairns in Queensland, adding a respectable 2331.61 miles to it's distance travelled. Hopefully the shiny little trackable will be safe there, as a couple of recent finders have reported syringes and drug parafernalia in the immediate area.
Not to be left behind, Hediya's Love and Peace (Maan) Travel Bug has taken up residence in this recently-placed TB Motel east of Montreal in the Canadian province of Quebec, adding 2309.72 miles to it's total milage.
Meanwhile, cacher Jacaru has passed ownership of his 3rd-placed entry, Knockout Ferrari, on to newbie cacher j33pster, who has marked KF as missing. I've attempted to contact Californian cachers VWjunkies who were holding the little spotscar, but they haven't replied and are apparently no longer actively caching. This doesn't neccessarily mean that Knockout Ferrari is out of the competition, as TBs do seem to have the abilty to turn up anywhere at any time!
I'm off for an internet-free week in Cornwall, so probably there'll be lots of movements in the next 7 days! I'll catch up next week and, hopefully, finally get those pictures of the winner's trophy posted.

Knockout Ferrari and Smart Car 10 both back on the road again
Jacaru can relax, as the owners of the cache that it went missing from, VWjunkies, have revealed that they retrieved Knockout Ferrari from the cache on June 1st.
Also on the move is Smart451's Smart Car 10 Knockout Racer TB, which was retrieved from the cache that it was resting in by local cacher mr45acp, who then placed it into this cache 1.54 miles away, and from where it has since been snaffled up by fellow Swede Stefan H.

Double Knockout blow for Jacaru's Ferrari?
Jacaru's Knockout Ferrari Travel Bug has suffered a possible double K.O. this week, as firstly it lost it's long-held second place in The Great Travel Bug Knockout to Hediya's Love and Peace (Maan) TB, and then was reported missing by the most recent finder of the cache that it was logged into...!
Speaking of The Knockout's new second-postition holder; Canadian cacher DisneyGirl took LaP(Maan) to this cache in the Alaskan city of Skagway (population 862 - not overly populated for a city!) but the cache was too full to leave it, so just dipped the love-spreading traveller, adding 880.07 miles to it's distance travelled, sufficient to nose ahead of Knockout Ferrari into second place overall. DisneyGirl subsequently dipped LaP(Maan) into this cache too (no milage added due to The Knockout's now infamous first-dip-by-each-cacher-only-to-count rule!) and has retained possession of the Bug.
Other entries on the move include cooper troopers' the noble traveller TB, which has materialised in this cache at the peculiar EuroAirport, which has official joint French and Swiss nationality, and has free access from Germany too. This drop has added 11.73 miles to tnt's race distance, and marks the little TARDIS' second visit to France.
Cooper troopers' friendly local rivals, Smart451 have seen their own Smart Car 10 Knockout Racer Travel Bug log some distance too, firstly cacher pensionist dropped it into this cache in Uppsala, Sweden, adding 119.71 miles to it's official Knockout distance travelled. It was quickly retrieved by visiting Czech cacher satanmar who the very same day placed the little car into this cache 0.44 of a mile away.
Finally, wemnog's The Skylark TB (which has covered 648.81 miles, despite not yet leaving England) has been picked up by cachers theleverets, whom I believe are based in Surrey.

Confused? You Will Be!
Okay, first a little background; when I started The Great Travel Bug Knockout I decided not to allow multiple placings (known as "dips") to count towards an entry's total milage, so as not to give an unfair advantage to a TB that is picked up by a regular long-distance traveller. All three Bugs that have been moved in the last week have therefore had some or all of it's recent milage disallowed.
Firstly, current Knockout leader, Blid435's BraveHeart has had all of it's dips by New Zealand cacher willbuild disallowed apart from the first one. How many dips have been disallowed? Well, let's count them, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42! After all that diptastic action, willbuild finally placed BH into this picturesque cache which he owns.
Next up is Jacaru's Knockout Ferrari TB, which cacher Anothercell placed into this cache on the busy U.S. Interstate Highway 5. Mysteriously, this log was deleted and KF was then dipped into this cache instead, then this one, this one, this one, this one, this one, this one, this one, this one, this one, this one, this one, this one and this one, before eventually being logged into Along the 5 again. As the difference between being placed directly into Along the 5 and being dipped into 1-Carrot-But NO BLING! is less than a mile, I've allowed the corrected order to stand.
Finally, G-X's Voodoo Whodo Whatever... TB was placed into an event cache named Dragon Motor Meet. Shortly afterwards the event was re-named Deceangi (The Boss's) Suprise Party and was revealed to be a surprise 50th Birthday party for Geocaching.com's head U.K. cache reviewer Deceangi. VWWYDDDP was retrieved from the event by cachers The GeoBEATS, who dipped it in this Cheshire cache, adding 39.54 miles to it's total distance travelled, before placing it into this cache, also in Cheshire.

Stuck in Lodi?
I've almost missed a move by the current 2nd place holder in The Great Travel Bug Knockout, Jacaru's Knockout Ferrari, which has gained 78.76 miles after it was retrieved on Wednesday by veteran American cacher (with more than 11,000 finds!) retiredprof, who the very next day placed the shiny sportscar into this appropriate cache, near El Dorado St in a southern suburb of the Californian city of Lodi, which reminds me of this song;
Hopefully Knockout Ferrari won't be "stuck in Lodi" for long!

Top two contenders battle it out
Current second place holder, Jacaru's Knockout Ferrari Travel Bug has been placed (by the Cache Owner, shakenbake47) into this cache in the former Gold Rush city of Marysville, California, adding 234.08 miles to it's distance travelled in The Great Travel Bug Knockout.
However, Knockout Ferrari's milage addition has been partially neuralised by the leader of The Knockout, Blid435's BraveHeart TB being placed into this cache in the Auckland suburb of Mission Bay, adding a respectable 143.72 miles to it's distance travelled.

Longtime California-based cacher kmfriend retrieved Jacaru's Knockout Ferrari Travel Bug from Ice Cant See the Tide From Here and placed it into this cache 2.06 miles away, from where KF was collected the same day by fellow Californian composter1.
Meanwhile, with 24 hours to go until Elimination Day in The Great Travel Bug Knockout, Happy Humphrey's missing Scary Halloween Monster has barely a ghost of a chance of surviving...

Is the smile about to be wiped off of Happy Humphrey's face?

It's almost Elimination Day again at The Great Travel Bug Knockout and it looks like Happy Humphrey's Scary Halloween Monster Travel Bug, which hasn't been seen for 3 months, will soon be no more than a slightly spooky memory. Still, strange things happen in the world of geocaching trackables, and SHM may yet make a surprise reappearance.
In other Knockout news; Jacaru's Knockout Ferrari TB has made some moves, but I'm not quite sure of the order they were made in. I've contacted the cachers responsible and it seems that, although KF is currently logged in the inventory of American cacher VampireGoldfish, it appears that VampireGoldfish retrieved Knockout Ferrari from The Place to Play In Morro Bay, then placed it into this cache 3.76 miles away. It was retrieved from that cache the following day by cacher think1011 who then later the same day placed it into this cache 0.38 of a mile away, where it was discovered by VampireGoldfish again. Of course, if this proves to be incorrect, I can adjust the distance travelled later.
Somewhat simpler to follow is the latest move by cooper troopers' the noble traveller, which has been placed into this cache in southern Poland, close to the border with The Czech Republic, and 58.62 miles West of the cache that is the present home of lgxkls' Hazards of Geocaching 1 TB. This move has added 1241.01 miles to tnt's total distance, sufficient to move it ahead of HoG1 into 4th place overall in The Great Travel Bug Knockout.
Finally, as more than one cacher has now logged that Grizzly Pair's Quatchi TB as missing from the cache that it is logged into, I've marked the friendly Bigfoot as whereabouts unknown.

Knockout Ferrari finds a parking spot as The Skylark sets sail
Rejoicing in Carlton this evening as Jacaru's Knockout Ferrari Travel Bug has been placed into this cache in Morro Bay, California, after being in the possession of cacher comstock for the last 3 months. This placement has added 163.99 miles to KF's distance travelled, consolidating it's current 2nd place in The Great Travel Bug Knockout. Not only has Knockout Ferrari been in action today, but Wemnog's The Skylark TB has been retrieved from the cache that it was resting in by Derbyshire-based cachers woodlands7.

Travelling without moving
I've been rummaging around for my 9-inch square of black silk this morning as I've had to pass my first judgement regarding a rule infringement in The Great Travel Bug Knockout.
The specific rule in question is Rule 3: Only the first move by a cacher will count. This rule was broken when cacher peigimaccann retrieved Jacaru's Knockout Ferrari Travel Bug from the cache that she had placed it in and then placed it into this one, 30.07 miles away. It's quite possible that peigimaccann mistakenly logged Knockout Ferrari into the wrong cache, but I'm counting her first placing as a dip, therefore the subsequent 30.07 miles have not been added to KF's official milage. The column to the right shows the correct current order of entries in The Knockout, but for correct official milage please scroll down to the bottom of this page.
Naturally, the entrant of Knockout Ferrari may appeal this docking of milage by posting a comment to this blog post. Just don't expect me to change my mind ;-)

New Knockout leader (by about 5000 miles!)
I think that I can confidently say that Jacaru's Knockout Ferrari Travel Bug is safe from elimination this month from The Great Travel Bug Knockout after cacher peigimccann placed it into this Californian cache, adding a whopping 5,044 miles to it's distance travelled.
Oddly enough, this sign near to the cache says that access is PROHIBITED...
The upside of this placement for the rest of us is that the cache is so full of trackables that finders may be spoilt for choice and take a different one. Although a goldplated Ferrari does attract the eye somewhat!

Bugs on the run
Three Travel Bugs entered in The Great Travel Bug Knockout have been retrieved from the caches that they were residing in;
Jacaru's Knockout Ferrari has been picked up by Californian cacher peigimccann. An amazing retrieval, when you consider that the Event Cache that Knockout Ferrari was logged into isn't being held until this coming Friday!
Next is Hediya's Love and Peace (Maan), which, after being ignored by experienced cacher Pierre7749 (obviously a man who dislikes hippies!), has been snaffled up by newbie cacher Jamie.Smith.
Thirdly (and most importantly of course) my own The Exterminator! Travel Bug has been retrieved from Wolviston Services TB, GC Hotel (A19,A689) by Cache Owners .Star.Wards. during a maintenance visit.

Thank You to Scottish cachers perth pathfinders who retrieved Jacaru's Knockout Ferrari Travel Bug and kindly answered these questions (answers in bold);
1. Do You usually pick up Travel Bugs? Yes always (well unless they huge ones)
2. What especially attracted you to this TB? Its owner? - er OK bumped into him as he was putting the ferrari into a cache as we arrived and caught him and I promptly took it back!
3. Do you try to help a TB achieve it's mission? Will do my best, and If not I will drop into my travel bug roadhouse for somebody else to help it along its way.
4. Do you ever follow the movements of a TB subsequent to you dropping it off? No not usually, I have enough caches on watch without TBs as well.

Ferrari hits the lead
Jacaru's Knockout Ferrari Travel Bug didn't spend long in Woodland Wander # 3, having been collected by experienced Scottish cachers perth pathfinders shortly after placement. Perth pathfinders subsequently logged Knockout Ferrari into this Event cache in the small Cathedral city of Dunblane, giving the TB a distance travelled of 143.86 miles and easily the lead in The Great Travel Bug Knockout.
And that's before mentioning that another cacher may be taking it to California shortly...

Ferrari hits the road
Jacaru has placed his Knockout Ferrari Travel Bug in this cache near Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria.
If the car's owner pays me $100,000, I may consider allowing it to move up one position in The Great Travel Bug Knockout!
EDIT: The above comment has caused some confusion. It's a reference to the Ferrari F1 drivers swapping positions in a recent Grand Prix, for which the team was fined $100,000. The reference was obviously too obscure for non-F1 fans!
